Departing from Casablanca

Rabat is 90km north of Casablanca by road — about one hour by private vehicle via the A1 motorway or 45 minutes by train. This proximity makes Rabat the easiest and most rewarding day trip from Casablanca: Morocco’s administrative capital has four UNESCO-listed sites within walking distance of each other, and the Atlantic waterfront setting is entirely different from Casablanca’s urban centre.

The key sites in Rabat are the 12th-century Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Kasbah of the Udayas (Almohad-era fortress overlooking the Atlantic and the Bouregreg estuary), and the Chellah necropolis — a Roman city converted into a Merenid royal burial ground, now a garden of storks and Roman ruins. Your private driver-guide provides historical context at each site and manages timing so you see everything without rushing.

Rabat is one of the quietest of Morocco’s imperial cities — far fewer tourist crowds than Fes or Marrakech, a walkable medina, and excellent Atlantic seafood restaurants on the Bouregreg waterfront. This day trip pairs well with a morning visit to Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque before heading north. Return to Casablanca by early evening. Request a quote.
