Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1

Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Erfoud - Rissani - Merzouga

We pick you up from your city hotel and travel to Ifrane, then Azrou in the Middle Atlas mountains. You will explore the cedar forests to watch local Barbary apes. We continue to Midelt and Errachidia, then drive through the Ziz Valley to Aoufous and Erfoud. We reach Merzouga where we stay overnight in a desert hotel with dinner.

Day 2

Merzouga desert excursion

Today we explore the Sahara desert, visit Rissani and its local souk, then return to Merzouga. You will visit Hassilabiad and its Nomad museums, then explore Khamlia village and listen to Gnaoua music. In the afternoon we ride camels across the desert. Enjoy the desert sunset, then reach a comfortable camp in Erg Chebbi. After dinner we listen to Berber music. Overnight in the Nomad tents.

Day 3

Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Today we wake up early to watch the Sahara sunrise, then ride camels back to the hotel for breakfast. Then we leave for Erfoud, then Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, an area famous for rock climbers. Then we arrive in the Dades Valley where we spend the night in a local kasbah with dinner.

Day 4

Dades Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast we explore the best of Dades Valley, then drive towards Kalaat Mgouna and the Roses valley. We visit Skoura village, and film studios in Ouarzazate. Enjoy a guided excursion in Ait Benhaddou kasbah, the largest kasbah in Morocco. We continue through the Tizi n'Tichka road pass to Marrakech.
