We provide private trips that travel from Marrakech to the desert of Merzouga. Day 1
Marrakech Arrival
Explore the Sahara on a Tour From Marrakech with Local Morocco Tours: your own desert tour business. You will be greeted by our staff upon arrival at the Marrakech airport, and then transferred to your riad in the city. The beginning of our 8day journey that will take us from Marrakech to Zagora and Merzouga begins with a walk through the streets of Marrakech. We go to a few of the local souks in order to get the best experience. You are going to spend the night at your riad and then spend the day exploring the Djemaa el Fna square.
Day 2
Marrakech Atlas Mountains Ait Benhaddou Ouarzazate
Following breakfast, we will make our way across the High Atlas Mountains, stopping briefly in a few Berber settlements on route to the Ait Benhaddou UNESCO World Heritage Site. After seeing this wellknown kasbah on a guided tour, we will continue on to Ouarzazate, where we will take you to see Atlas Studios. Following the meal, you will retire for the evening in a traditional kasbah located in Ouarzazate.
Day 3
Ouarzazate Agdz Zagora
Our journey from Marrakech continues today as we make our way to Agdz, a stunning oasis that is home to a wellknown Kasbah called Tamnougalt. Following lunch at the Kasbah, we will continue our hike through the oasis and up to the Ait Saouen pass. As we make our way toward Zagora, you will get a glimpse of the beautiful oasis that is Draa Valley as we go through a number of palm trees. Dinner and overnight at a riad or kasbah in Zagora.
Day 4
Zagora Erg Chebbi Desert Dunes
We will continue our trip, after lunch in Alnif, we will travel to Rissani, a city from which commerce camel caravans used to begin their trek over the Sahara desert to Mali. Rissani was formerly a starting point for these journeys, and we will bridge the Jbel Saghro and drive eastsoutheast across an insane terrain. After that, we'll make our way to the desert town of Merzouga. We are going to have a fun adventure riding camels. When you get at the desert camp, there will be food waiting for you, as well as Berber music to listen to, and a comfortable tent to sleep in for the night.
Day 5
Erg Chebbi Tinghir Dades Gorges
After an early wakeup call, you will have the best opportunity to witness the sunset over the Sahara. After breakfast in the desert camp in the Sahara, we will go to Rissani, then Tinghir, and ultimately to the Valley of Todgha, a verdant oasis that flows down a beautiful deep valley. After enjoying a stroll through the stunning canyons, we will continue our day by driving to the Dades Valley region, which is famous for its breathtaking rock formations. After supper, make your way to Dades, where you will spend the night at either your hotel or kasbah.
Day 6
Dades Ouarzazate Atlas Mountains Marrakech City
The next part of our 8day tour from Marrakech takes us to the Dades Gorges, Kalaa Mgouna, and the Valley of the Roses, which is wellknown for the Damascus roses that grow there. After that, we continue on to the oasis of Skoura, where we visit the wellknown Kasbah of Amridil. Finally, we arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will get the opportunity to see the city kasbah as well as Atlas Studios, which have been utilized for the filming of some of the best movies ever made. After lunch, we will continue our journey to Marrakech, which will take us via the High Atlas Mountains. Spend the night at a hotel or riad in the Marrakech area.
Day 7
Marrakech Excursion With Local Guiide
We will spend the day touring the most famous sites in and around Marrakech with our experienced local guide. In the afternoon, guests have the choice of participating in one of several activities, including camel rides through palm groves, oriental baths in the Medina, and quad or buggy excursions. Spend the night at a hotel or riad in the Marrakech area.
Day 8
Departure / Airport
